  • The Department of Botany is known for its academic excellence, high calibrefaculty, and greatly enriching co-curricular activitieslike seminars, group discussions, quite and debate programmes.
  • The Department boasts labs that are well equipped with latest instruments. the Department also maintains an enormous collection of  herbarium specimens.
  • These collections facilitate in practical learning of the subject and in forming a connection with the specimens of nature they study.
  • Digitalclassroom facilities are also available in classrooms to facilitate student learning with representation of concepts discussed in class
  • The Department also regularly organises field trips, study tours, botanical excursions, and summer internships that help in bringing about holistic development of students.

     Subject details:

  • BSc Botany syllabus consists of core subjects like Diversity of Microbes, Cell Biology, Genetics, Plant Anatomy, Plant Embryology, Biodiversity- Algae and Microbiology and more. BSc Botany subjects are a mixture of both theoretical and practical classes.
  • After completing BSc Botany, a student may go for a Master’s Degree or a career in the R&D (Research and Development) sector.
