Chemistry - Profile
The department of chemistry was established in the year 1985-86.The department started UG Courses in 1985-86. Initially Classes were conducted in junior college campus with few students. The college was shifted to its own and new Degree College premises in 1996. However, the laboratory work was continued in the junior college up to July 2001. At Present well equipped laboratory was established in 2003.The department is offering Under Graduated Courses i.e., B.Sc. Hons Chemistry Single Major, MPC and CBZ. The department equipped with 2 sanctioned posts and one laboratory record assistant post.
The department is committed to providing high-quality education, with a strong emphasis on conceptual understanding rather than rote learning. Our teaching approach encourages critical thinking and deep comprehension, preparing students beyond just exams.
We are actively involved in creating awareness within the student community by participating in the college's extension activities such as Environmental Protection Programs, including Ozone Day, National Pollution Control Day, and National Science Day.
Additionally, the department organizes national seminars, webinars, workshops, conferences, and "Lab to School"/School to college outreach programs and field trip to enrich students' knowledge and foster their overall development. We also offer certificate courses to further enhance their learning and skillsets.
